Threads

Here are some threads for you to follow. Some people, websites, articles, and snippets of poetry or ideas that I find in my own meanderings. There are so many beautiful creatives out there - making art, writing poems and stories, singing, dancing. If you come across any you like, please share with me.

Amy Moses Photography

Amy took the beautiful photographs you see on this website. She is a science graduate with an eye for beauty and for capturing a moment. Not only is her work exquisite, but she is a delight to work with. (I must add that for anyone looking for someone to photograph their horses, Amy is brilliant!) You can see more of Amy's work on her Instagram page.

Poetry Workshops: In these monthly workshops (maximum six people) each poet’s work is discussed in great detail in a non-threatening, supportive atmosphere. Workshops meet in person in Wendy’s home in Deurdrif, Constantia. (I have been a member of one of these groups for a number of years and can highly recommend them.)

Poetry Salons: In these monthly get-togethers the focus is on a particular aspect of contemporary poetry. For example: Conventions of Love, Praising the Mutilated World, Young SA poets. Poetry Salons meet in person or on zoom.

Mentoring single poets: to develop your writing or prepare a collection of poems. Meetings in person or on zoom.

Natalie Eslick

Natalie Eslick is a New Zealand artist and blogger. Her love for the natural world is evident in every piece of art she creates. I also love the way she writes about her life, and about the everyday beauty and magic she finds in her immediate surroundings. You can find out more, and sign up for her newsletter, on her website.

Sharon Blackie works with the myth and stories of the British Isles. She is a psychologist and scholar, which means that not only is her work compelling, but that it has rigour and substance. She runs courses, writes novels, and sends out a regular newsletter - which I love. Find out more here
